Sports Update: 

The boys placed second at the MSM Conference meet last night.  Their final placement does not reflect the absolute grit that the boys showed in their efforts.  The boys had TEN first place finishes and an additional NINE top five finishes across all events.  PR were made by Silas and Judah in the 400m, Judah in the 800m, Ryan in the 1600m, and Jeramy in the long jump and 300 hurdles (for which he ran a state qualifying time and it was much prettier this time).  Landen ran a total of 3.75 miles taking on the 3200m, 800, 1600, and 4×400 all in one night!  I can’t possibly name all of the efforts by each person!  EVERYONE stepped up and did their part!

The girls had a great night too.  The 4×400 team got first place, the 4×200 team PR’d and came in a very close second place at only 0.4 seconds behind first.  Carrie Ann won triple jump and her 800m (with a PR) and Lydia tied for first in the 1600m.  Sophia PR’d in the 200m.  All ran against some strong competitors last night and did an awesome job!

Gage in German 1 for very good preparation for vocabulary test no. 14 and fast & independent work on written assignments in class.

Maddox in German 1 for very good results on vocabulary test 14 and frequent contributions to class.

Brytan in English 9 for an increased focus and productivity in independent work phases preparing his research essay.

Lane in Dual Credit Novels for very good results on the reading comprehension test for the novel “Never Let Me Go”, and display of positive work ethics in completing and presenting a slide show on an aspect of the same novel on his own when everybody else worked in small groups.
