There will be no traditional auditions for the fall play. Students interested in acting in “The Iliad, the Odyssey, and all of Greek Mythology in 99 minutes” should talk to Mr. Bulava to get a script and let him know about any potential conflicts. Rehearsals begin next week and will be held directly after school (3:30-4:30 pm) and in the evening (7:00-8:00 pm), depending on the day and other school events.

Cross Country team will meet in Mr. Harkins room at break.

Sports Updates: 

The Lutheran High School Cross Country team traveled to Clinton to compete in the Light It Up Cross Country Meet, and the team enjoyed a very successful day of racing. Lydia captured 3rd place in the girls division with an outstanding performance. In the boys’ open division, Tucker finished 44th out of 191 runners, while in the boys team division Calvin placed 39th out of 214 runners. The boys’ team finished 13th overall in a highly competitive field, with Calvin, Landen and John breaking the 17-minute mark. Lydia, Tucker, John, Judah, Joseph, and Landen all recorded personal best times (PRs) at the meet. 

The Boy’s Golf Team finished a busy first week by competing in a match on Friday afternoon at Timber Lakes Golf Course in Staunton. On a warm afternoon the Crusaders finished in 3rd place behind Piasa Southwestern and Bunker Hill. Congratulations once again to Braydan who finished as the medalist for the meet shooting a 39. The team is back on the course on Tuesday against Auburn and Williamsville.

The Lady Crusaders hosted their annual Crusader Classic.  It was a weekend of great volleyball with a tremendous amount of talented teams.  The Saders battled tough but came up just short- they continue to use this beginning of the season as a chance to learn and grow with being such a young team. 

The Crusaders soccer team was back on the road on Saturday, and the trip  to Carlinville felt like it was from here to eternity.  The Crusaders fell behind 1-0 but battled back and scored on a cannon of a goal from Cyrus I. A scoreless second half sent the game to penalty kicks. Lucas S and Cyrus I scored the first two pks. Parker S made some excellent saves on two of Carlinville pks. Ely T drilled the fifth kick and Parker S made another great save to win the game. The sound of victory music and cheers were awesome to hear.
