CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
- Welcome Nicole Matteson as the new Development Director.
- Working with Google to remove the “Permanently Closed” banner that pops up on some Lutheran High School searches.
- The Steier Group planning study results are in and the Capital Fundraising Campaign will be kicking off in the near future.
- The Campaign Logo is approved. “Strong Faith. Strong Foundation. Strong Future.”
Election of Officers. The Board of Directors elected the following officers for the 2025-2026 school year. The leadership of these individuals will be critical in the year ahead.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Enrollment: 2025-2026 Enrollment is 110 total students with 32 incoming freshmen.
Sports:
- Summer Sports Camps (Basketball and Volleyball) had 170 youth participate.
- Fall Sports:
- Volleyball has 16 girls on the roster.
- Soccer has 17 boys on the roster with co-op students from New Berlin and Calvary.
- Cross Country has 9 boys and girls on the roster with 1 runner from Pawnee.
- Golf has 10 boys and girls on the roster.
- Football has 4 boys in our co-op with Routt Catholic High School.
- Student Handbook is complete and available on the LuHi website.
- Chapel will be conducted three times a week with Mr. Harkins and Mrs. McCulley providing music.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Incoming LuHi Teachers
- Michelle Cox will teach Physics.
- Fee Habtes will teach Science and Social Studies.
- Michael Barrett was hired to teach our new and highly requested Agricultural Science program.
- Bethany Deem will teach Music Appreciation, Choir and Piano.
- Jamie Kaufmann will teach Film and Publications.
- Clint Jeffers will teach Physical Education.
Lutheran High 5-Year Strategic Plan
The board collected data and compared total teacher compensation to local private schools and the Central Illinois District. To begin increasing staff compensation to locally competitive levels, teachers received a salary increase of 5% beginning July 1, 2025.
FINANCE COMMITTEE
- Welcome Mindy Dance as the LuHi Bookkeeper.
- The LuHi Foundation for Excellence received a substantial endowment in Herbert Kobialka’s name for science education.
- The principal and non-teaching staff salaries were increased by 5%, which is commensurate with the teachers increase beginning July 1, 2025.
- The June 30, 2025 year-end financial reports and the 2025-2026 budget were approved and are available for release to the Association Churches.
