Sports Update: 

The Crusaders soccer team traveled to Macon to play the 10-2-2 Hawks.  LuHi knew it had to fight for its right to win.  LuHi went up 2-0 at half with both goals by Carter.  LuHi came out of the half a little sluggish and gave up a goal.  You would have thought they had no sleep till Brooklyn.  However, goals by Carter and Ford helped them fight for their right to a 4-1 victory.  Lucas chipped in with 3 assist, and Peyton M had 1 assist.  Great job team!

The volleyball team fell to non-conference opponent Routt.  Thank you to all the students who came out to support the girls.  Although we didn’t win it was a fun atmosphere to play in!

The Boy’s Golf Team hosted a three-team meet on Thursday at Brookhills Golf Course.  On a sunny afternoon when we honored our seven senior golfers, both boys and girls, the Crusaders finished in first place with a score of 161.  Southeast was second with a 168 followed by Auburn JV in third with a 244.  Max finished in second place with a 38 followed by Aaden and Connor who tied for 3rd a shot back with a 39.  The boys are in action at the Sangamon County Tourney this Saturday.

Athletics of the Week:

In soccer – these two players have been leaders in training and in games.  One helps lead the defense, and the other is a maestro of the midfield.  Parker is a strong goalkeeper and had a shutout this week while Lucas has had a goal and 4 assist in two wins.  Well done!

Alayna in volleyball.  Alayana’s volleyball journey in high school has been unique because she suffered injuries early on in her career.  She has not let that stop her, she works hard daily –  fights to play and earn points for her team.  We are blessed with her on the team.

Lane and Alex in golf.  Both Lane and Alex tied for 6th place individually with each shooting a 45.  This score counted in the team total as the Crusaders finished in first place at our three-team meet at Brookhills Golf Course.

The Crusader Cross Country team athletes of the week are Jeramy and Lydia.  In the Pittsfield meet on Tuesday on a wet rainy course, Lydia took second place in the women’s division and Jeramy took third in the men’s division.
